Jennifer Marshman

Jennifer Marshman is a PhD candidate with the Laurier Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at Wilfrid Laurier University. Over the past decade, some of Jennifer’s qualitative research has included identifying barriers to urban agriculture in Waterloo Region, exploring volunteer perceptions of urban gleaning in Ontario, and describing the experiences of street food vendors in Nanjing, China. Jennifer’s PhD research explores pollinator-friendly programming in Ontario municipalities using a case study methodology with a combination of qualitative methods including participant observation, interviews, and document analysis. Jennifer’s teaching philosophy and approach is student-centered and emphasizes participatory learning.
